Learn Spelling Without Stress

He is just plain lazy.

He only likes to play.

He’s going to have spelling next week and he refuses to learn.

What should I do?

One day, when I was bathing him, an idea came to me. I told him that we were going to play a game, a game that requires him to use his fingers. So, we started.

Me: Follow me, b-a ba, j-u ju, baju (baju means clothes in Malay language).
Wayne: b-a ba, j-u ju, baju.
Me: Now, write “baju” on the wall with your finger.

He happily made some strokes on the wall, thinking it was a game. There, that took care of his spelling. So, we did this every time he took his bath.

On top of that, I printed out the words separating the syllabus and told him we were going to play matching game. It was a success! He could match all six words.

So, with two types of “games”, he managed to learn his spelling. He enjoyed. My mission accomplished. Both were happy!

maybe you can think of buying the washable pen for your kid to write down the spelling on the wall.

That's a very good idea. Most kids prefer learning through play, same goes with my kids.

Being a mom we do have to be diligent to print out something... be patient to teach them when they feel don't like to learn... be creative to cheer them up so they can learn better... be playful to make their day!

I think you are qualified all of those requirements Jo-N!
